Product Description
The asphalt heater is a dedicated heat exchange equipment for heating, warming up, and reducing the viscosity of solid/semi-solid asphalt, enabling it to reach a state suitable for transportation, spraying, mixing or production use. It is the core equipment of the asphalt storage, transportation and processing system.
Main Functions
Heating and melting: Heating the asphalt at room temperature to a flowing state to meet the requirements of pumping, pipeline transportation.
Insulation and temperature control: Stabilizing the working temperature of the asphalt to avoid cooling and thickening, as well as blocking pipelines and equipment.
Adjusting viscosity: Controlling the viscosity of the asphalt through heating to ensure uniform and stable metering, spraying, and mixing.
Preheating for energy saving: Preheating the low-temperature asphalt to reduce the heating load of subsequent processes and improve production efficiency.
Common Types
Heat transfer oil heater (mainstream): Using high-temperature heat transfer oil as the heat medium, heating the asphalt through coils or shell-side. The temperature is uniform and safe, suitable for continuous production.
Steam heater: Utilizing steam heat exchange, with a simple structure and fast heating speed, mostly used in small-scale asphalt stations and pipeline heating.
Electric asphalt heater: Small in size, easy to install, and precise in temperature control, often used for small flow rates and local heating.
Sleeve-type / shell-and-tube heater: The asphalt flows through the shell-side, while the heat medium flows through the tube-side. The heat exchange efficiency is high, suitable for large-scale continuous heating.
Working characteristics
Working temperature: Generally 120-200℃.
Must have good insulation to reduce heat loss.
The asphalt side flow channel is designed smoothly to prevent local overheating, aging, coking and carbon deposition.
Often used in conjunction with asphalt pumps, filters, buffer tanks.
Typical application locations
Heating inside/outside asphalt storage tanks.
Heating asphalt transportation pipelines.
Heating before the production of modified asphalt, emulsified asphalt.
