China Vertical Asphalt Melting Device with Stirring Mechanism - High Efficiency Suppliers & Factory Solutions

A China asphalt melter is a specialized industrial machine designed to efficiently and uniformly melt solid asphalt, whether it’s in block, drum, or bag form, into high-quality liquid asphalt. This equipment is essential for numerous applications, including road construction, waterproofing projects, and the carbon industry, effectively addressing issues such as poor thermal conductivity, local overheating, and slow melting of asphalt. As a leading factory among asphalt melter suppliers, our product boasts a compact structure, consistent heating, rapid melting speed, and high efficiency. It is easy to control and ideal for large-scale operations, featuring in-tank filtration and convenient slag removal for optimal performance.

    Product Description

For a relatively large melting capacity (2–15 t/h), a vertical coil structure is adopted; for a smaller melting capacity (1–2 t/h), a horizontal tube bundle structure is adopted; for a very small melting capacity (test use – 100–1000 kg/h), an electric heating structure is adopted.

Continuous melting ensures stable discharge and can operate 24 hours a day without interruption. Indirect heating combined with forced stirring eliminates local overheating and prevents asphalt performance degradation. Built-in slag discharge ensures environmental compliance.

    Main Structure

Compared to the submerged pump asphalt melter, the agitated vertical asphalt melter replaces the high-temperature circulation system with an agitation system (agitator and drive unit), resulting in a more compact equipment structure, faster, more uniform and stable heating, and lower failure rate.

The main structure consists of an asphalt tank (straight upper section and conical lower section), thermal oil heating coils (inner and outer coils plus conical coil), agitation system (gear motor, bracket), support frame (upper and lower brackets and columns), and is equipped with electronic load cells, digital thermometer, bottom slag discharge mechanism, as well as an asphalt filter and asphalt buffer (receiving) tank.

    Working Principle

The stirring-type asphalt melting device can make the modified asphalt neither decompose nor melt rapidly and continuously, reaching the required process temperature, and continuously and stably discharging the qualified melted asphalt.

    1

Solid asphalt enters the melting zone from the feeding port. Under the action of the high-temperature heat transfer oil, the asphalt is heated and melted, and is stirred by the stirrer to enhance heat transfer; high-quality liquid asphalt is pressed into the secondary heating zone, and the slag enters the conical storage slag zone.

    2

After melting, asphalt enters the secondary heating zone for further heating, dehydration, and sedimentation. When the temperature meets process requirements, qualified asphalt is continuously discharged through the filter and transported by the insulated pump.

    3
Maintenance and Cleaning: Open the liquid asphalt discharge valve to clear the tank. Start the bottom discharge mechanism to remove settled impurities. Maintenance personnel can enter through the bottom manhole when needed.
    4

Temperature Control: A measuring point at the outlet controls the heat transfer oil inlet valve. This regulates melting speed and prevents asphalt aging due to overheating.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the typical melting capacity of this equipment?
The capacity varies by structure: vertical coil systems handle 2–15 t/h, horizontal tube bundles handle 1–2 t/h, and electric heating units are used for 100–1000 kg/h.
Q2: How does the system prevent asphalt aging?
It uses indirect heating combined with forced stirring to eliminate local overheating and includes precise temperature measuring points to control the heat transfer oil flow.
Q3: Can the equipment operate continuously?
Yes, the design supports 24-hour uninterrupted continuous melting and stable discharge of qualified liquid asphalt.
Q4: How are impurities and slag handled?
The tank features a conical lower section for slag collection and a dedicated bottom discharge mechanism for easy removal of settled impurities.
Q5: What are the main benefits of the agitation system?
The agitation system provides more uniform heating, a faster melting rate, and a lower failure rate compared to traditional submerged pump circulation systems.
Q6: What industries typically use this melting system?
It is widely used in the carbon industry (anode production), road engineering (mixing plants), and the chemical/waterproofing industry.
