China Insulated Asphalt Storage Tank Suppliers - High-Quality Long-Term Storage Factory Solutions
Main Functions
Large Storage Capacity
Meets the continuous production requirements, avoiding frequent feeding and melting, and ensuring the continuity of production.
Constant Temperature
Insulation maintains the asphalt at the flowing temperature (generally 130-180℃), preventing cooling and solidification.
Sedimentation & Removal
The asphalt remains in the tank for a long time, and mechanical impurities and coke powder naturally settle at the bottom of the tank.
Transfer & Buffering
Connects the upstream melting equipment with the downstream production process, playing a role in regulating and stabilizing the supply.
Structural Characteristics
Tank Design
Mostly in vertical or horizontal cylindrical shapes made of steel, with volumes ranging from several tens to several thousand cubic meters.
Heating System
Equipped with heat transfer oil coils / steam coils inside. Some small tanks use electric heating to ensure uniform overall temperature.
Insulation Layer
The outer wall is wrapped with insulation materials such as rock wool and glass wool, covered with color steel or galvanized iron sheets to reduce heat loss.
Companion Accessories
- Inlet port, outlet port, overflow port, bottom drainage port
- Level gauge, thermometer, temperature measurement probe
- Asphalt smoke exhaust port, manhole, maintenance port
- Anti-static, lightning protection, safety guardrail, etc.
Working Method
The high-temperature liquid asphalt is sent into the tank by the asphalt melting device or the unloading device.
The coil pipe continuously heats up, keeping the asphalt in the tank at a constant temperature and in a flowable state.
During production, the asphalt is extracted from the bottom of the tank by the asphalt pump, passes through the filter and heater, and is sent to the process.
Impurities deposit at the bottom of the tank and are regularly cleaned through the sewage outlet.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the typical storage temperature for asphalt in these tanks?
The asphalt storage tank utilizes a constant temperature and insulation system to maintain the asphalt at a flowing temperature, generally between 130°C and 180°C, to prevent cooling and solidification.
What heating systems are available for asphalt storage tanks?
Asphalt storage tanks are typically equipped with internal heat transfer oil coils or steam coils. For smaller tanks, electric heating may be used to ensure a uniform overall temperature.
How do the tanks handle impurities in the asphalt?
Because the asphalt remains in the tank for an extended period, mechanical impurities and coke powder naturally settle at the bottom. These deposited impurities are regularly cleaned out through a dedicated sewage outlet.
What insulation materials are used to prevent heat loss?
The outer wall of the storage tank is wrapped with high-quality insulation materials, such as rock wool and glass wool, and is covered with protective color steel or galvanized iron sheets to minimize heat loss.
What accessories are included for safety and operation?
The tanks come equipped with companion accessories including inlet/outlet/overflow ports, drainage systems, level gauges, thermometers, temperature measurement probes, asphalt smoke exhaust ports, maintenance manholes, anti-static and lightning protection, and safety guardrails.
How does the asphalt flow from storage to production?
During production, the asphalt is extracted from the bottom of the tank using an asphalt pump. It is then driven through a filter and heater before being safely directed into the production process.
